The 75th annual Golden Globe Awards were handed out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and it was a big night for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Coco, The Handmaid’s Tale, Big Little Lies, The Greatest Showman, and James Franco.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, the drama about a mother who personally challenges the local authorities to solve her daughter’s murder when they fail to catch the culprit, took home four Golden Globes including Best Motion Picture, Drama, Best Actress for Frances McDormand, Best Supporting Actor, Film for Sam Rockwell.
Disney Pixar’s Coco took home the award for Best Animated Film, a much-deserved win. Not only was Coco one of 2017’s best movies, it was an absolutely beautiful film. We saw it in both English and Spanish, we cried throughout both versions of the film. If you haven’t seen Coco, you MUST watch it.
Hulu’s hit series The Handmaid’s Tale took home two Golden Globes, Best TV Series, Drama and Best Actress TV Series, Drama for Elisabeth Moss.
The Greatest Showman took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song, Film for “This is Me.” To be honest, we thought Nick Jonas (“Home” from Ferdinand) or Coco (“Remember Me”) were going to win this award. A surprising win, for us, but we do agree that “This Is Me” has a great message about being true to yourself.
A big night for James Franco who took home the Golden Globe for Best Actor Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy for his role in The Disaster Artist. Check out the full list of winners, below.
