Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández, Mexico’s premier folk dance company for more than 70 years, for one night only, Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 7:30 pm in Segerstrom Hall.
Founded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández, Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández brings together the music, dance, and costume of Mexican folklore from pre-Colombian civilizations to the modern era. While the esteemed ballet is permanently in residence at the iconic Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, performs over 120 dances in its repertoire, and is comprised of 60 folk dancers and musicians, who continually perform extensively across Mexico and abroad, Orange County patrons will have the unique opportunity to experience the captivating performance at the Center.
