Beyoncé Announces ‘Formation Scholars’ Scholarship Program

In honor of the 1-year anniversary of LEMONADE, Beyoncé has announced “Formation Scholars,” a new scholarship program for young women going into the 2017-2018 school year.

According to Beyonce.com, the scholarship fund is meant to “encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious, and confident.”

In its inaugural year, the scholars will come from four different schools: Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College.

According to a statement:

Four scholarships will be awarded, one per college, to female incoming, current, or graduate students pursuing studies in the creative arts, music, literature, or African-American studies.

No word how much money will be awarded to each scholarship winner, but we’ll keep you up to date.
