Maverick visionary and singer-songwriter, C. Tangana, takes home three awards under the “Best Engineered Album“ (El Madrileño), “Best Alternative Song” (Nominao feat. Jorge Drexler), and “Best Pop/Rock Song” (Hong Kong feat. Andrés Calamaro) categories at the 2021 Latin GRAMMY® Awards.
The Spanish-born singer also took to the stage and gave a spellbinding performance of his song “INGOBERNABLE,” off of his album “El Madrileño,” alongside Alizzz, Antonio Carmona, Diego Del Morao, Israel Fernández, Jorge Drexler, La Húngara, Natalia Lafourcade, Nathy Peluso, and Omar Apollo.
“El Madrileño” has been met with immense critical acclaim and fanfare. The album has garnered over 525 million total streams combined globally as well as dominated some of the most prominent music lists. The album took the No.1 spot on Spotify’s Top 10 Global Album Debuts, debuted No. 6 in the US, and debuted at No. 8 on the Latin Pop Albums chart marking the album as his inaugural entry to any Billboard albums chart as well as his first top 10 (he’s the first Spanish-born artist to chart in the list’s top 10 since Rosalía’s ‘El Mal Querer’). “El Madrileño” also accrued over 5 million streams on Spotify Spain within its first 24 hours, positioning all 14 tracks in the Top 50 chart, making it the best debut of a Spanish artist in history.
