Colombian band ChocQuibTown released their song “Morena” with Lil Silvio & El Vega and La Ross María.
“Morena” is a song that invites you to dance and dedicate, and although it might seem that it refers to a specific skin tone, it’s a song that aims to highlight the beauty of women and to believe in love again at first sight.
This collaboration came about as a result of a viral video from ChocQuibTown and Lil Silvio & El Vega. They were in the studio working on what this song would be when they previewed the chorus. That part of the song went viral on TikTok with more than 40K videos using it, and this is how La Ross María heard it and decided to jump on the trend, recording and posting a video of her singing it.
The video was shot between Miami and the Dominican Republic under the direction of Squid and the Wild House production company.
This is the first single from the new ChocQuibTown album, which comes after ChocQuibHouse, an album that ended with a four-time Platinum certification in Colombia, a double-platinum certification in the United States, and several Gold certifications around the Latin American region.
