GRAMMY-nominated, chart-topping producer Chris Lake, and leading UK Tech House producer Cloonee, have teamed up to release the new anthem “Nightmares.”
The track opens with the sound of a clock ticking the moments away and a childlike voice bidding “good morning.” But the innocent façade is quickly shattered as the voice reveals its identity: a character from your nightmare who wants to “play.” Fueled by a steady, sizzling beat, big brassy tones and a futuristic blipping melody “Nightmares” is the audio equivalent of a chilling horror film, condensed into less than three minutes.
Cloonee says:
Working with Chris was an absolute honor and a huge milestone in my career that I will look back on fondly. It took us a few attempts to land on this record, but I’m incredibly happy that we did as the final result is amazing. It was also nice for Chris to see how a real producer works in the studio 😉
Chris Lake added:
I liked working with Cloonee because he has fantastic taste in British chocolate. He’s also not a bad producer.
“Nightmares” comes on the heels of Lake’s “400,” the lead single from the recently released Chapter 3 of the Black Book ID’s series. He also recently shared the Sosa remix of “A Drug From God” – the ambitious single from Lake and Grimes’ new AI girl group, NPC. The original single has amassed over 10.6 million combined global streams to date.
