Tony winner Dan Fogler has joined the cast of the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Fogler joins the cast that includes Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, centers on the adventures of writer Newt Scamander (Redmayne) among New York’s secret community of witches and wizards 70 years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.
Fogler is set to play Jacob, a nonmagical person whom Newt befriends while on his adventure in New York.
David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter films, will helm the project, which has a screenplay by Potter author J.K. Rowling. The script is taking its cues from Newt Scamander’s Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
