Mexican-American sierreño artist DannyLux teamed up with altruistic impact-driven creator, Jesús Morales, on Valentine’s Day of this year to participate in one of the creator’s celebrated street vendor buyout campaigns.
This random act of kindness by Jesús and DannyLux led them to Pilar, an 80-year-old street vendor with a heart condition who sells fruit. The initial video took Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube by storm, amassing more than 14 million views and raising over $50K on GoFundMe within the first 24 hours.
Three months and $93K raised later, DannyLux and Jesús delivered the money to Pilar at her home. Thanks to DannyLux, Jesús, and the 5.3K donations on GoFundMe, Pilar’s wish is coming true, and she can now retire and return to her family in Mexico. This was Jesus’s first collaboration with an artist and his most successful campaign to date!
