American Idol winner David Cook is set to make his Broadway debut in the hit musical, Kinky Boots.
Cook is joining the Kinky Boots cast in the role of Charlie Price, the son of a shoe factory owner who reluctantly takes over his father’s business. He’ll appear on stage at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre for a limited time, starting April 3rd and running through to May 5th.
Cook released the following statement:
I am so thrilled and honored that I am going to be part of this show and get to work with so many amazing people! I love the collaborative aspect of theater, the idea of being part of a creative team and working it out in front of an audience each night. I can’t wait to join this incredible cast in Kinky Boots including the very talented Wayne Brady and Kirstin Maldonado.
Cook follows in the footsteps of Panic! at The Disco‘s Brendon Urie and the current lead, Sister Sisters frontman Jake Shears who have taken on the role as Charlie Price.
