Get ready, summer is coming and with it comes SUMMER BLOCKBUSTERS, this is the EROCKS Summer Movie Preview!
2020 was the year that shut down the country and with it movie theatres, flash forward to 2021, the country is slowly but surely opening back and with that movie theatres are too, which means blockbuster movie that were supposed to be out in 2020 will be seen in 2021. Movie studios had to get creative with their movie releases, a lot of the forthcoming movies will be available simultaneously in theatres and on streaming services (“Space Jam: A New Legacy,” “Marvel’s Black Widow,” etc), but some movies will be available to watch only in theaters (“Snake Eyes,” “RESPECT,” “HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: TRANSFORMANIA,” etc).

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins – Only In Theatres, DOLBY Cinema and IMAX on July 23rd
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him. Based on the iconic G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins also stars Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Tahehiro Hira as Kenta and Iko Uwais as Hard Master.
HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: TRANSFORMANIA

A QUIET PLACE: PART II – Only In Theatres May 28th
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
Marvel’s BLACK WIDOW – In Theatres and Disney+ w/Premiere Access on July 9th
Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina.
The feature film is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, “Black Widow”—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Disney’s CRUELLA – In theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access on May 28th
Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense and Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

artist Sonia Kincaid (Salma Hayek). As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous
protectees, the trio get in over their heads in a global plot and soon find that they are all that stand
between Europe and a vengeful and powerful madman (Antonio Banderas). Joining in the fun and
deadly mayhem is Morgan Freeman as…well, you’ll have to see.
SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY – In theatres and streaming on HBO Max on July 16th
LeBron James, NBA champion and global icon, goes on an epic adventure alongside Bugs Bunny and his looney friends.
When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself.
