#ERocksSummer – The Ludlow Thieves Celebrate Love In the Video for “Almost”

Rock, roots band from NYC The Ludlow Thieves have released the video for their latest single, “Almost.”

The video took 69 years to make and is especially connected to guitarist / producer of TLT, Dan Teicher. Discovering home movies of his grandparents’ journey of love, marriage, and family, Dan compiled these clips to show a beautiful life set to an equally beautiful tune.

On their first anniversary of dating, at 17 and 15 years old, his grandfather got his grandmother a silver cup with one word on it. Fifty years later, and fifty cups later, a poem he had written about their love and relationship. They were then selected by Tony Bennet to go on a television program on Valentine’s day to discuss it.

This inspirational love story is strung together by a folksy, stark acoustic guitar and pizzicato strings. The seemingly-simple buildup leads to a cinematic chorus that sets the tone for an uplifting, hopeful song that perfectly fits the video clips. In the words of Dan’s grandmother, we hope to “have the strength and the health to carry on for another year, another two, three, another four, five. And after that we’ll ask for more!” Which is exactly what we’re doing – can’t wait for more music from The Ludlow Thieves
