ESTY Releases New Single “CHUKI CHUKI”

LA-based Dominican-American singer/songwriter Esty has released her highly anticipated new single, “CHUKI CHUKI.”

Inspired by songs that she would hear at family gatherings as a kid living in NYC in a Latin household, Chuki Chuki hits close to home for Esty. The track and much of Esty’s music comes from her experience as a first-generation Dominican American. Rooted in Merengue but melding her American influence of Hyperpop, Chuki Chuki is your and your best friends’ new party, “get saucey” anthem.

Used in Dominican slang, the word “Chuki” means up to no good, derived from the diabolical doll “Chucky”, who is always looking for trouble. The slang is now appreciated more lightheartedly and fun, used to describe friends being mischievous and looking to party. Shining light on her culture in this track and upcoming new music video, she continues to embrace confidence, diversity and uniqueness – showcasing the inclusive and vibrant world of Estyland.
