Editor-in-Chief of W Magazine, Sara Moonves, along with W’s Editor-at-Large, Lynn Hirschberg kicked off Golden Globes weekend with a special edition of the Best Performances Party Friday night.
This year, the annual star-studded affair celebrating the magazine’s Best Performances Issue and the Golden Globes, took place virtually on W’s YouTube channel.
The event kicked off with 8-year-old Minari star, Alan Kim, introducing W’s Editor-in-Chief, Sara Moonves who welcomed guests to this year’s specially programmed event.
Throughout the event, stars from W’s Best Performances issue played games and participated in W’s signature interview series – Five Firsts. Cover star George Clooney conducted a Lyrical Improv reading of the BTS song Dynamite; while fellow cover stars Andra Day, LaKeith Stanfield, and Tessa Thompson were joined by portfolio stars Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, Taylour Paige, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Majors, Rachel Brosnahan, Sophia Lillis, and Talia Ryder for a hilarious game of “Never Have I Ever” (17:15); Cover star, Gal Gadot, shared her “Five Firsts” while decorating a cake for the party; cover star Vanessa Kirby and portfolio star Leslie Odom Jr. also recalled their “Five Firsts” and Andra Day shared her “Party Playlist” singing her current favorite party song Best Friend by Saweetie and Doja Cat.
The evening ended with the A-listers “Popping Bottles” in honor of the year’s Best Performances and the stars at the forefront of cinema, from industry legends and icons to those whose phenomenal talent is ushering in a new wave of stardom.
