Things are getting freaky at Disney Channel, the Network has announced that they’re remaking Freaky Friday into a musical starring Heidi Blickenstaff & Cozi Zuehlsdorff.
The new Freaky Friday musical will be based on the stage version of the film. Blickenstaff, who played the mom role in the stage version, and Cozi Zuehlsdorff star as the bickering mother and daughter who both wish they could switch places with the other for a day. But be careful what you wish for: They magically wake up one freaky Friday in each other’s body and begin a journey of self-discovery and empathy neither one could have imagined.
The cast will also include Ricky He, Alex Désert, Jason Maybaum, Kahyun Kim, Dara R. Moss, Jennifer LaPorte, Isaiah Lehtinen and Sarah Willey.
An official premiere date is yet to be announced.
