Beloved Spanish band, Hombres G, known for their catchy hits that captivated the youth of the ’80s and influenced Latin Rock across the globe, brought their 40th-anniversary tour, “40 Aniversario: Y Seguimos Empezando” to LA’s Crypto.com Arena.
Performing in LA is not new to the band but this show was significant for Hombres G as it marked a milestone achievement, showcasing their enduring popularity as they fill bigger venues and find success in one of the city’s most prestigious venues, a feat they had never imagined possible.
The band took the audience on a nostalgic journey through their extensive discography, starting with their debut album from 1985, featuring classics like “Venezia,” “Vuelve a mí,” “Lawrence de Arabia,” and “Devuélveme a mi chica” and continued with hits from subsequent albums, including “Voy a pasármelo bien, ” “Agitar antes de usar” and more. The concert also included a video montage of their early TV appearances, evoking fond memories for long-time fans.
The nearly two-hour show included instrumental changes and guest musicians, with special video messages from stars like Ana Torroja, Miguel Bosé, Enrique Bunbury, Alejandro Sanz, andJoaquín Sabina congratulating the band on their 40-year career.
Lead singer David Summers expressed heartfelt gratitude for the enduring support from their musical peers as well as from their fans. The concert ended with a rousing encore of “Temblando,” “Visite nuestro bar,” and their iconic “Devuélveme a mi chica.”
