On the poignant track the always emotive singer is especially vulnerable, the slight rasp in his voice on full heartbreaking display over a slow instrumental build. The track begins as a woozy synth reverie, then seamlessly transforms through steady acoustic strums, hypnotic harmonies, a bellowing horn, and an echoing electric guitar solo.
The accompanying video then takes us to outer space as Cornejo treks through a vast, otherworldly landscape, looking out onto the universe before catching sight of a woman—perhaps a mirage—who he can never quite reach. Running like a moody mini-movie, the visuals are stark yet striking.
