Superstars J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Banda MS, Julieta Venegas, Karol G, Christian Nodal, Zoé, Los Angeles Azules and Cazzu lead the list of artists that will perform at the inaugural Spotify Awards on March 5, 2020.
This first-ever edition of the awards will air on Telemundo and Universo, exclusively in the United States, live from the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City at 9 pm/8C. In addition, Universo will air the one-hour “Green Carpet” pre-show at 8 pm/7C.
The awards show will include some of urban music’s biggest stars, including J Balvin, who is currently the fifth most listened to artist globally on Spotify, Bad Bunny, currently number 24, and Karol G, currently number 32 in the global ranking and whose most recent hit, Tusa, is number one on the Latin American charts.
Representing the Regional Mexican music genre, Spotify Awards will include performances by Banda MS, which has more than 6 million monthly listeners on the platform; the legendary cumbia group, Los Ángeles Azules, with more than 7 million; and Christian Nodal, with more than 9.9 million monthly listeners.
Representing indie music and rock, Julieta Venegas will present a unique performance, in addition to Silvana Estrada and Daniela Spalla, while Mexican band Zoé will bring a special performance. In terms of pop, confirmed artists include Reik, as well as performances by Piso 21 and the Mexican trap phenomenon Alemán. In addition, Zion & Lennox, Cazzu and Nicki Nicole will be among the night’s other performers.
