J Balvin x Bad Bunny’s “Oasis” Album Breaks into Spotify Global 100

J Balvin and Bad Bunny’s surprise album, “Oasis,” dropped on Friday, June 28, with the complete album breaking into Spotify’s Global 100 (four in the Global Top 50) and five of the eight tracks in the US Top 50 within the first 24 hours.

This marks the first time that every track from a Latin artist’s album appears in Spotify’s Global 100 on debut. The quick success of the album is a testament to the artists’ power in modern music with J Balvin currently touting nearly 52 million monthly listeners and Bad Bunny with more than 37 million.

Top streaming tracks include Qué Pretendes, an up-beat summer wave track filled with subtle jabs to the duo’s ex lovers, and La Canción, a jazz-infused melancholic trip down (drunken) memory lane that oozes from spacious timbres, opening the floor for J Balvin and Bad Bunny to express some of their deepest thoughts on the project.
