Jackie Cruz Releases Powerful Single “Be Bad,” Short Film with Eugenio Derbez

Multi-faceted artist, singer, composer, and actress Jackie Cruz releases her powerful new single “Be Bad.”

Anchored by a smooth and sensual beat and driven by intriguing, thought-provoking lyrics, “Be Bad” is a profound modern anthem that encourages listeners to fight for their dreams and leave behind the expectations of others while reminding them that there is always far more below the surface than meets the eye.

A passionate social activist, Cruz relentlessly works to give women, Latinas, and people of color a voice in the media, and today, “Be Bad”, directed by Jackie, is released along with its stunning official music video that had the Williamsburg hotel as location, through which the star valiantly displays her view of feminism and her belief in gender equality.

In the video, Jackie plays Lilith in a short film that depicts the story of creation and the Garden of Eden. God, who is voiced by Mexican actor/comedian Eugenio Derbez, directs Lilith and Adam (played by actor Victor Almanzar) on Earth below, and quickly replaces Lilith with Eve (played by Olivia Fox), leaving Lilith to feel rejected and lost before reclaiming her inner power.

“Be Bad” follows the release of Cruz’s debut album “Hija de Chavez” which was inspired by the women who raised her and influenced her throughout her life.
