Musician, entrepreneur, philanthropist and best-selling author, Jessica Simpson is getting her own documentary produced by Gunpowder & Sky.
Production is currently underway on the documentary, described as a raw, intimate and unprecedented look into Simpson’s personal journey.
The yet to be titled documentary will feature interviews with those closest to her, including Simpson herself, and chronicle her return to music in more than a decade.
The documentary will reunite Simpson with her longtime collaborator, Gunpowder & Sky CEO Van Toffler, with whom she worked on the MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
Simpson said:
I am very humbled to team up with Gunpowder & Sky and Van Toffler, who has been a longtime collaborator and supporter of mine, to make a documentary series that is entirely real, raw and more personal than anything I have done before.
In releasing my memoir, Open Book, I was moved to learn just how much people saw themselves in my story. I am ready to share a lot that has happened in my life since that book was published, including an artistic journey and return to music inspired by pain and betrayal as well as beauty and forgiveness. I am looking forward to reconnecting and sharing my heart with all those who might need it in the hope that we can inspire each other and move forward on our parallel journeys.
