Globally adored pop artist, Johnny Orlando, returns with new music, The Ride – Part 1. The project’s first installment of a collection of songs titled, Part 1, consists of a 2-song pack, the dreamy summer anthem “July” released with the accompanying visual and the catchy pop track “Boyfriend”.
Both songs were recorded in Los Angeles. The first track “July” was produced by Grammy Award-winning Rabitt (Andy Grammer, Kiiara, Ingrid Andress) and Zetra (Kali Uchis, MØ). The next track “Boyfriend” was produced by Trevor Brown and William Zaire Simmons (Demi Lovato, Lizzo, Guy Sebastian). The Ride – Part 1 captures the first taste of what fans can expect from the 20-year-old’s post-teen pop musical evolution. The remaining parts are set to release later this year.
Orlando had this to say:
I’m really showing a different side of myself on this project, a vulnerable one, one that I haven’t shared before but it’s empowering to show both sides. Part 1 explores the immediate reaction that I have to things. In terms of a relationship that’s the honeymoon stage, and just as intense – it’s the resentment and anger with myself after things end. Part 1 signals the beginning of summer and bittersweet memories that await. The person who only saw directly in front of them with thick, distant clouds, obscuring any probability of their interests falling apart. Until it’s too late. There’s no greater thrill than falling in love.
