Johnny Ortiz and Alexis Vazquez Set To Star In Xolalpa’s Family Drama ‘Lolita’

Mighty Aphrodite Pictures has confirmed Johnny Ortiz and Alexis Vazquez are set to star in Xolalpa’s upcoming family drama titled ‘Lolita.’

After a year-long break, the prolific filmmaker will be returning to set for his highly anticipated drama which follows Jesus (Vazquez) a man who after being in jail for nine years, is trying to adjust to his new life, all while fighting to gain custody of his daughter, Lolita, with the help of Angel (Ortiz).

Early this year, we broke the news on Xolalpa’s 8th untitled feature film starring Cesar Camacho and Alexis Vazquez. Sources close to the director tell us that the film is still in production. Since the story takes place in a span of 5 years, the director has chosen to go in the ‘Boyhood’ direction by shooting chronologically, with each story year, apart, to give the actors some space to change and grow physically. We are told that once ‘Lolita’ wraps, Xolalpa is set to jump into pre-production for the ‘Untitled’ film’s second year.

Principal photography for ‘Lolita’ will begin the first week of January and will go on for 20 days. The film is being produced by Xolalpa and Alfredo Winman under Mighty Aphrodite Pictures.
