After the nationwide vote, there’s a new American Idol.
Twenty-One-year-old New Yorker, Just Sam is the new American Idol, she took the title after weeks of socially distant episodes. Without a doubt this was one of the most intense seasons of Idol, with no live audience or band, the contestants had to connect with America via their iPhones. Not every competitor captured the hearts of millions, but the ones that did, they made it to the finale.
Just Sam captured America’s heart with her story and the way she connected to the songs she performed week after week. “Rise Up,” the song she chose as her winning single, showed off her growth as an artist and told her story, from performing at New York’s subways to winning American Idol. Just Sam is the definition of a true American Idol, a singer with a dream that captured the hearts of America.
There’s no doubt that all the other four finalists (Francisco Martin, Arthur Gunn, Dillon James, and Johnny West) will have great careers, they made it to the Idol finale, this is just a stepping stone for what’s to come. Remember, not winning Idol isn’t a bad thing.
P.s. We were reading comments on Twitter, yes, American Idol should’ve been LIVE on both the East Coast and West Coast, but with the current state of things, it would’ve taken a big budget and a whole lot of more work to do. We logged in to the American Idol app and voted, here’s to next season, hopefully, we can get back to the extravagant Idol we’ve come to love.
