Kenia OS explores her musical roots with the new single “Más Te Va a Doler” a track that was born in Colombia while she was on vacation.
The song fuses Kenia’s signature pop style with the Mexican music she grew up with which made her deeply reconnect with her roots. As a result, she decided to film the official video in one take in her native city of Mazatlán, MX.
Kenia had this to say:
I didn’t expect it.
When I shared it, it was just an idea. I was nervous because it was my first Mexican music record, but I saw that the Keninis liked it so much, so I wanted to give them a gift for everything that has been happening thanks to their support. I then invested time in the studio and worked on it with Saibú and Sofía Thompson.
“Más Te Va a Doler” comes at a peak moment in Kenia’s career. Just a week ago, the singer performed at the Zócalo de Acapulco on Tamarindos beach, where unexpectedly more than 60,000 fans packed the venue to sing songs by the creator of the albums Cambios de Luna and K23, which positioned her as one of the most influential artists in Mexico.
