L.A. Comic Con Introduces ‘Micro-Con,’ a Digital Event Featuring Live Panels, Exclusive Content and Launch of an Interactive Virtual Con Shopping Experience

After a difficult year for the Con industry, LA Comic Con, L.A.’s largest event for comics, gaming, sci-fi, and pop culture has announced the launch of its first virtual Con event, Micro-Con, set for April 17th, 2021.

The immersive half-day digital event, which is presented by Sideshow, will feature exclusive content for fans from their favorite casts, creators and artists. Attendees will feel right at home with live panels and Q&As through digital feeds as they get to hang out with their favorite casts and creators in this jam-packed event. The Con floor experience will be felt throughout, including two custom booth tours by Sideshow featuring collectibles from fan-favorite properties like Star Wars, Marvel and DC.  Fans can also be the first to shop the launch of the digital Con shopping experience, SuperFan Mall, designed by game developers to virtually replicate the fun and discovery of shopping the aisles within an IRL Comic Con.

The immersive experience will feature over 100 exhibitors and artists, including some from Cons around the US.

In addition to having traditional “Main Stage” guests and live panels, fans can hang out with their favorite casts, V.O. artists, and creators through digital meet-and-greets sponsored by new partner Peeq, which can be saved and stored by them forever. VIP attendees will even be granted the opportunity to nerd out with their favorite LIVE Q&A panel and take a keepsake photo to share their participation with the world.

Micro-Con will take place on April 17, 2021, from 11:00 am 3:00 pm PST. Tickets are available today on comicconla.com for just $15 for General Admission and $35 for VIP Admission. Digital Meet & Greets will range from $50 to $100.

L.A. Comic Con is also using this first Micro-Con to bring together the organizers, leaders, and fans of independent Cons and fan events from all over North America to establish a virtual Independent Con Network (ICN), including AnimeNEXT (https://animenext.org/) based in Atlantic City, NJ, IkkiCON (http://ikkicon.com/) based in Austin, TX & El Paso Comic Con (http://elpasocomiccon.com/) based in El Paso, TX, as the first three of many Cons to join.
