Maria Becerra x Ivy Queen Team Up for “Prmier Aviso”

Maria Becerra teams up with the queen of reggaeton, Ivy Queen on the new single “Primer Aviso,” the first track off Becerra’s highly anticipated upcoming album.

The song originates from Maria’s frustrations and feelings of powerlessness in various work-related situations, which she channeled into a diss track sure to spark conversation. IVY QUEEN joins the song, contributing ad-libs alongside J.Balvin, Nicky Jam, Yandel, Zion, Guaynaa, and Lola Indigo.

Maria said:

It was going to be a solo song because it was my way of venting, but when I sent the song to Ivy so she could echo my bars and do Ad Libs like everyone else, she sent me a verse directly because she felt identified with it and had a lot to say. I loved the idea because I realized I wasn’t the only one these things happened to… and of course, when she sent her verse, we were blown away!

With this classic reggaeton track, Maria delves into the challenges of the music industry, particularly for women. Ivy’s contribution is significant, drawing from her own early experiences in the industry.

Ivy added:

My anecdotes remind me of what ‘PRIMER AVISO’ talks about. When I began in this genre, it was very difficult for me; I had to make my mark. When I arrived at performances and wanted to get on stage because it was my turn, someone wanted to cut in line. I really identify with the things she’s saying because I had to show my strength, and I’m well-known for my character, but I think if it had been any other way, nobody would know who Ivy Queen is. Because I wouldn’t have made a difference, I might have been just a puppet of the system.

The music video underwent adaptation to include both artists without deviating from Maria Becerra and Julián Levy‘s original concept. Ivy’s contribution was integrated from Miami, while Buenos Aires provided the backdrop of the neighborhood of Lugano, featuring Maria alongside a diverse cast of dancers and local youths.
