It’s happening, Matt Damon is coming back as Jason Bourne in the new yet-to-be-titled Bourne movie.
To celebrate the first day of principal photography, producer Frank Marshall shared a shirtless photo of Matt Damon on the set. We see a shirtless Damon and we see him getting ready for what appears to be a fight. Now that’s something we really want to see, hah.
So, what will this new installment be about? Well, we don’t know…but Matt did talk to Buzzfeed and this is what he said:
Without giving too much of it away, it’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world. It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy.
Julia Stiles will be reprising her franchise role. Tommy Lee Jones and Vincent Cassell will be joining the cast of the film. Although unconfirmed at this time, Jones is rumored to be playing a high-ranking CIA official with Cassell starring as the film’s chief antagonist, an assassin on Jason Bourne’s tail.
You can see Frank Marshall’s tweet, below. The new Bourne movie is slated to hit the big screen July 29, 2016.
