Nitzia Chama, Ilean Almaguer & Victoria Del Rosal will star in Mighty Aphrodite Pictures currently untitled dystopian thriller, written by Xolalpa who will also direct and produce with Sara Seligman.
Although all details are being kept under wraps, we are told the story takes place in a theocratic dictatorship. This will be Xolalpa’s 7th feature film, once again partnering with his constant collaborator, Cinematographer Maria Barbosa. When asked for a comment, Xolalpa responded by saying that he feels “lucky to be able to tell a story that, in parts, will reflect in a way a lot of what’s currently going on in our world.” Xolalpa is scheduled to begin principal photography Summer 2022 for a Fall 2023 release.
Chama, a rising star in Hollywood is widely known for the role of Ana Camacho Garcia in HBO Max’s The Garcias. Almaguer, a Mexican soap star, is known for her work in Marina, The Last Rumba, Gitanas. Del Rosal is known for her participation in Rica Famosa Latina and Xolalpa’s main collaborator as the star in Valentina and Your Iron Lady. Xolalpa, (Valentina & Your Iron Lady) recently completed his highly anticipated 6th feature film SVGS (starring Vadhir Derbez and Elyfer Torres) scheduled to be released this coming Fall.
