KPWR, Power 106, LA’s #1 For Hip Hop, today announced that it will change its name to “Kendrick 106” in celebration of Kendrick Lamar’s first new album in five years.
The takeover began May 12th at 9 pm, it’ll go on until May 13th at 9 pm, a 24-hr takeover for the king’s return. The takeover, Kendrick 106 will feature content and interviews with Kendrick Lamar, new songs from the much-anticipated “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers” album, and classics from his extensive catalog.
Born and raised in Compton, California, Kendrick Lamar is widely regarded as one of the greatest freestyle rappers of all time. He has been recognized with over 160 awards for accomplishments in music, including 14 Grammy Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
