EXCLUSIVE: Mighty Aphrodite Pictures and Cuyo Productions have confirmed Fabian Rodriguez known internationally as ‘Naysha Lopez’ has joined Xolalpa’s Strangelove.
A source close to the production has revealed that Rodriguez is joining as a series regular. He will be introduced as ‘Luis’ who is ‘Manuel’s’ love interest played by Edgar Segura. This will be Rodriguez’s acting debut. After participating in RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8, Rodriguez is ready for a new venture.
When asked about joining the cast, Rodriguez said:
I’m super excited and humbled to join this group of creatives and be a part of what will definitely be a groundbreaking show. This is new territory for me and I can’t wait to dive in ! I’m so grateful to Jorge for the opportunity!
Xolalpa who directing all six episodes and is co-show-running with Shelly Ro and Luis Adrian Lara said:
‘I’m excited to have Fabian join our Strangelove family. We’re all familiar with his amazing work as a former Miss Continental and on Drag Race so I’m excited for the world to see a whole different side of him as he brings ‘Luis’ to life.”
With 3 weeks left in production and a stellar cast, Xolalpa has been teasing us with sneak peeks throughout the month. The series is expected to premiere this fall on Amazon Prime.
