Colombian hitmaker and torchbearer of the new generation of Reggaeton, RYAN CASTRO, releases his highly anticipated debut studio album, a project that represents the culture of his neighborhood of Pedregal in Medellin, EL CANTANTE DEL GHETTO.
The album is a collection of 18 tracks woven together with elements of classic Reggaeton, dancehall, and trap, genres that have shaped his career from street busking to becoming the global sensation he is today. Titled after his nickname, ‘El Cantante Del Ghetto’ is a personal homage to his roots, humble upbringing and the hard-working community of his hometown.
Building up to the release of his album, Castro debuted “Quema” with Peso Pluma, “Ghetto Star”, “Rich Rappers” in collaboration with Rich the kid and most recently “El Cantante Del Ghetto” with Coque and La Eterna, a salsa track that pays tribute to Puerto Rican legend Héctor Lavoe. His newer high-profile collaborations, now come to light with artists that have inspired him such as Reggaeton icons Arcangel, Ñengo Flow, Yandel, Jowell y Randy, and Zion in addition to the new generational acts such as Myke Towers, Totoy el Frio, Blessd, and more.
