“Countdowns” by Sleeping At Last, which will be featured in this week’s episode of Astronaut Wives Club (airing Thursday 8/13 at 8/7c on ABC) recently premiered on ABC.com
Singer-songwriter/producer/composer Ryan O’Neal explains the song and songwriting process by saying:
I knew right away that I wanted to write the song from the wives’ perspectives. How strange, frustrating, terrifying and exciting it must have been to be standing alongside those early astronauts, supporting the ones you love as they risk their lives in the public eye. To have to champion the cause of the space race no matter how many emotions well up inside and threaten to spill over. I tried to imagine what all of that might feel like in the opening lyrics.
This is just the first taste of what’s to come from Sleeping At Last. Over the next year 25 singles will be released as part of Atlas: Year Two highlighting the themes of Life, Senses, Emotions, Intelligence, and The Enneagram. “Life,” which is part of the Atlas: Year Two series has already been released, which can be purchased on iTunes.
