Song Kang-ho, best known for his roles in “The Host,” “Snowpiercer,” and Academy Award winning film “Parasite” is set to star in Disney+’s period drama “Uncle Samsik” from Korean writer-director Shin Yeon-shick.
“Uncle Samsik” set in 1960s Korea, tells the story of a young idealist man who is driven to turn his country’s fortunes around. The man attracts the attention of a shady fixer, who adapts to any situation and takes whatever steps necessary to help him accomplish his boss’ goals.
Kang-ho will play the fixer Pak Doochill/Uncle Samsik, and Byun Yohan (Mr. Sunshine, Six Flying Dragons) the idealistic Kim San.
The 16-part drama is set to debut on Disney+ sometime in 2024.
