Surly, the loveable purple squirrel from Open Road Films’ upcoming animated film, THE NUT JOB 2: NUTTY BY NATURE, is going nuts over California’s official state nut.
California Governor, Jerry Brown announced that Almonds, Pecans, Walnuts & Pistachios are each to be the official state nut of California. Surly was so excited about the news that he made a sign about it, check it out below.
That’s not the only exciting news that Surly has to share, The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature featuring the voice talent of Will Arnett, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Katherine Heigl, Jackie Chan, Peter Stormare, Bobby Cannavale, Isabela Moner, and Maya Rudolph opens in theaters on August 11th.
In The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature, Surly Squirrel (Arnett) and the gang are back. They are once again in Oakton where the evil mayor has decided to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Surly and his ragtag group of animal friends band together to save their home, defeat the mayor, and take back the park.
