Tony Hawk, Steve-O to Executive Produce Skating Anthology Series, ‘Sk8 or Die’

Skateboarding icon, Tony Hawk is teaming up with Jackass star Steve-O to executive produce new skating anthology series starting with, Sk8 or Die: The Lee Ralph Story.

The series is based on on the life of the New Zealand skateboarder who reached the peak of the sport in the 1980s before abruptly vanishing from the scene.

The series is being produced as a biographical anthology series much like Ryan Murphy’s Monster, with each new season exploring the life of another skating legend.

Season one of Sk8 or Die will star Vinnie Bennett as Lee Ralph, and Oscar-nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes as Lee’s sister and life-long partner in crime, Kim Ralph.

Sk8 or Die: The Lee Ralph Story will follow Lee’s childhood in New Zealand, growing up the son of a heroin-dealing father and his rise to becoming a skating pro in the late 1980s, often skating barefoot. At the peak of his fame, as one of the sport’s top stars, he suddenly dropped out.
