There’s a new wave of young talent taking over the Latin music scene, and it’s no secret that twin brothers, Celo and Genio, better known as VICE MENTA are at the forefront of setting a new trend in the industry with their unshakable talent and fresh sound.
Following the release of their debut single, Granada in 2018, the brothers have returned to shake things up in 2019 with the release of their newest single, “ROSÉ.”
“Rosé” –which was fully produced and written by the brothers themselves –perfectly embodies the diverse musical style that differentiates VICE MENTAfrom other urban Latin artists. Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, the brothers grew up listening to a lot of different artists, but were mostly influenced by hip-hop and R&B such as Drake and Future. They knew they wanted to develop a sound that was unlike what was expected of artists out of Mexico. Drawing influence from genres such as R&B and Atlanta hip-hop and combining it with Spanish lyrics laced with common slang and phrases native to Northern Mexico has created a unique musical pocket for VICE MENTA.
The music video, which simultaneously world premiered today, was filmed in their hometown of Monterrey, Mexico under the co-direction of Mlkman and Jesse Baez.
