Grammy award-winning Jamaican-American producer, DJ, and emcee Walshy Fire of Major Lazer dropped his newest single “Validé,” featuring Haitian singers J. Perry and Mikaben, Bonaire-born singer/songwriter Ir Sais, and producer-duo Tribal Kush.
The new track is the first-ever English, Papamiento (Spanish and Portuguese-based creole), Haitian creole, and Spanish language song. The melodic, upbeat sweet song puts on for lovers across the Caribbean diaspora and beyond, with a nostalgic video directed by Noorez “Nunu” Rhemtulla, featuring all the artists at a hot, vibey summer BBQ. The single debuts on Walshy’s new joint-venture label with Mad Decent, ABENG, with more details to come.
The single also comes ahead of Walshy’s upcoming full-length project, Abeng 2, the sequel to his venture into Afrobeats, Abeng, which featured names like Mr. Eazi, Kranium, Nailah Blackman, Stonebwoy, Wizkid, Maleek Berry, Bunji Garlin, Machel Montano, and many more.
