From filmmaker Josh Swade (director of The Black Keys, Diplo, Major Lazer, Gary Clark Jr. shorts, as well as Rick Was Here, One and Done, among others) comes the upcoming documentary RICKY POWELL: THE INDIVIDUALIST.
The documentary is set to premiere on Saturday, May 30th at 5:30 pm ET at WE ARE ONE: A GLOBAL FILM FESTIVAL.
RICKY POWELL: THE INDIVIDUALIST tells the story of legendary NYC street photographer Powell, who rose to worldwide fame documenting the downtown New York hip-hop, fashion, and art scenes of the 80’s and 90’s.
The film features a plethora of icons from the entertainment world including Chuck D, LL Cool J, Mike D, Vin Diesel, Laurence Fishburne, Debi Mazar, Natasha Lyonne, Mark Ronson, Futura, Fab Five Freddy, and many others.
WE ARE ONE: A GLOBAL FILM FESTIVAL is an unprecedented 10-day digital film festival airing exclusively on YouTube, for free, beginning May 29.
