The Queerties have announced that World of Wonder’s owned and operated SVOD WOW Presents Plus will be the exclusive streaming partner for The 12th Annual Queerties Awards show. The Jinkx Monsoon-hosted ceremony will take place on March 12 in Los Angeles and will feature musical performances by David Archuleta and “Breakout Musical Artist” nominee Bronze Avery, as well as celebrity appearances from Rosie O’Donnell (Icon Award recipient), Paula Abdul (Straight Up Ally Award recipient), Trace Lysette (Groundbreaker Award recipient), and more. The star-studded ceremony in its entirety will be exclusively available to stream on WOW Presents Plus starting March 19.
Presented by Queerty, the LGBTQ+ entertainment news site, The Queerties is a celebration of entertainment and pop culture moments that defined the past year in the LGBTQ+ community. It is designed to uplift and spotlight LGBTQ+ creators, tastemakers, and storytellers who are not often recognized at other award shows. The 12th Annual Queerties Awards stream will join WOW Presents Plus’ robust library of LGBTQ+ content, including original series, World of Wonder-produced documentary films, and the entire international Drag Race franchise.
Nominees for The Queerties were selected by the editors at Queerty and voted on by Queerty readers. Categories range from the “Badass” award, honoring the year’s top LGBTQ+ newsmakers, to “Coming Out for Good”, an award recognizing brave notables who shook up mainstream America with their coming out stories, and awards for excellence in music, TV, cinema and more. Sponsors of the event include Lexus, which is continuing its multi-year partnership with The Queerties, as well as FX’s FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans, which airs new episodes on Wednesdays at 10pm ET/PT on FX, streaming on Hulu. The non-profit organization LOVELOUD serves as this year’s charity partner for the event.
